Mark is the second of two children in his family. He lives with his parents in a single room dwelling in Katanga slum. His parents work as casual laborers and their income is barely enough to feed the family.

Despite of Mark's circumstances, he is bright and very ambitious.

Mark's life has changed a lot since he was sponsored two years ago and sponsorship has greatly helped his family.
